"Surely you shall call a nation you do not know, and nations who do not know you shall run to you, because of the Lord your God, and the Holy One of Israel; for He has glorified you". Isaiah 55:5
Kimberly Daniel
ISI City Director of Colorado Springs
Even though my family is originally from North America and I have been recently living in the U.S. for five years, my life has been very international. I grew up overseas in a missionary family and attended a few international schools while living in South Korea and Uzbekistan. As an adult I have lived overseas and taught at international schools in Turkey, China, and South Korea. As a result of my international experience, I have a unique ability to relate to internationals on a heart level. I can empathize with how they struggle to adjust to a new culture and the battle of where they belong, because I too, have experienced the same struggles. I love asking them about their life’s story, finding out where they are at on their spiritual journey, praying with them, and when the Holy Spirit leads, sharing the gospel with them.
When I came back from ministering overseas, I was excited to learn that internationals were here and that there were fellow Americans who had a similar heart for the nations! I attended the annual Wild West Welcome Event in Aug. of 2017, and was hooked. I knew I wanted to be a part of this ministry in some form, just didn't know in what way. Early on, Dean (former City Director) met with me and asked me to prayerfully consider joining them as staff, so pray I did. I officially, became a campus staff member in May 2018 and then stepped into the position of City Director in March of 2021.
My role as the City Director consists of shepherding the staff, volunteers, and students and meeting up with them individually each month, running our monthly meetings, coordinating and facilitating the events (big and small) throughout the year for the internationals with my team, acting as the liaison between the college campuses and the ISI headquarters (communicate with the international office on campus), networking (liaison between ISI and churches/individuals), training and recruiting volunteers/staff, managing the city funds, etc. This year looks very different to where we are having to start over from scratch. I feel that prayer and discipleship (investing in Christian student leaders) are the key components that the Lord wants us to focus on in our ministry for the time being.
It's been quite the journey, and I can say without a doubt that God has been so near, good, and Faithful through it all! I know that I am where the Lord has called me for now, and am blessed to get to serve Him in this way! I would appreciate your prayers for wisdom, discernment, and creativity to partner with God to build, develop/strengthen, and lead my team according to His will.
Praising Him for His Faithfulness,
Kimberly J. Daniel
